Lodge retreat set within a 1.3 km walk from Blenheim Palace
Location
The lodge retreat sits 1.3 km from Blenheim Palace, placing the palace grounds within a 15-minute walk via a woodland pathway. The hotel offers direct access to a free community footpath from Bladon that leads into the palace grounds, bypassing the main entrance fee. University of Oxford is 12 km away, with a park-and-ride service that costs £5 for parking and two passengers on the double-decker bus.
Accommodations
Each lodge is equipped with a full-size kitchen that includes a dishwasher, oven, microwave, toaster, and washing machine. The private bathroom features a walk-in rainfall shower with refillable shampoo, conditioner, and body wash from the hotel. The living area has floor-length windows, a dining table and chairs, a patio with outdoor furniture, and selected dog-friendly lodges come with a fenced private garden.
Parking & EV Charging
Each lodge has an allocated parking space with a 3.5 kWh EV charger that operates via the Monta app at a cost of 50p per unit. A 22 kWh fast charger is also available near the reception building for quicker top-ups. The hotel provides accessible parking and additional visitor parking spots distributed across the site.
Pet Policy
Dog-friendly lodges are available with a fenced garden area that allows pets to roam freely and safely outdoors. A dedicated 10-acre enclosed dog field with a small pond is located next to the site for off-leash exercise. A gate at the bottom of the dog field provides direct entry into the palace grounds for longer walks.
Family & Practical Amenities
The hotel has a reception shop that sells essentials including wine, beer, chocolates, ice cream, and toothpaste. A pizza van parks at the site entrance on Friday and Saturday evenings from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
